CFPB Launches Web Form for Regulatory Inquiries

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) announced a change in the way it will accept regulatory inquiries. The recently launched web form is accessible on its website. This online form was designed to replace the email address ([email protected]) previously utilized for regulatory questions and suggestions.
The anticipated response time is approximately 10-15 business days, however, the Bureau advises, “response times and formats vary depending on the current volume of questions, the amount of time needed to research your question, and staff availability.” A cautionary statement found on the CFPB website explains that replies are not official interpretations of the Bureau or substitute for legal counsel or other compliance advice.
